d

Toronto – dance Immersion has launched a revolutionary marketing campaign to bring dance to the people. Powered by a series of live dance events held at key locations in Toronto as well as DinDance.com, Canada’s only social networking community dedicated to dancers and dance professionals, dance Immersion is putting the D back in dance.

The first event planned for 2011 is “Into The Roots… Beyond The Leaves”, a collaborative dance work that encompasses the blending of styles and forms of up-and-coming choreographer Jasmyn Fyffe and senior choreographer Vivine Scarlett.

A cast of five dancers will execute this full evening work that examines and explores the different ways we view ourselves and the things that influence us to change. The show will take place from Friday February 18, 2011 to Sunday February 20, 2011 at the Winchester Street Theatre, 80 Winchester Street. Evening shows will be held at 8:00 pm on Friday and Saturday and a 3:00 pm matinee on Sunday.

In addition to the Into The Roots…Beyond The Leaves event, dance Immersion will introduce the Baby Boyz Dance Group to dance enthusiasts at Harbourfront Centre’s annual NextSteps 10 11 event as part of its ongoing efforts to educate and entertain the dance community. The Baby Boyz performance is a 45 minute presentation that tells an urban dance story of three young men from Africa, Jamaica and Canada.

Dance Immersion will also host the International Association Of Blacks In Dance (IABD) Annual Conference, Jan 26 – Jan 29, 2012 at the Enwave Theatre, Harbourfront Centre as well as TRIBUTE (A Moving History Of Black Dance In Canada), Feb 22 – Feb 26, 2012 at the Enwave Theatre, Harbourfront Centre, 235 Queens Quay West.
