DiaTri, LLC (parent organization to the companies of MDM, AAS, and DBM) has recently contracted with Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters Welfare Fund (Carpenters Welfare Fund) to provide a Diagnostic Testing program for its Group Health Benefits members starting July 1, 2008. Diagnostic Benefit Management (DBM) is DiaTri’s product line and division that creates diagnostic network solutions for employers, TPAs and insurance carriers in the Group Health industry.

Although the Carpenters Welfare Fund members are familiar with a program similar to what DBM offers, they will experience higher levels of customer service, no out of pocket costs and a locally based team to cater to their needs. Treating physicians within the Blue Cross/Blue Shield network are to schedule their diagnostic tests such as MRIs, CTs, Arthrograms, Bonescans and P.E.T. scans through DBM. In doing so, Carpenters Welfare Fund will benefit with savings in the millions of dollars. In addition, Carpenters Welfare Fund will benefit from DBM’s high-level reporting, it’s highly credentialed and quality focused network, as well as its Concierge Service to Carpenters Welfare Fund members. This Concierge Service by DBM handles all aspects of patient preparation, education, scheduling, and follow-up. DBM acts as an overall resource for their members for any question or concern they may have in regards to their scheduled exam. The advantage to the utilized physicians is the lack of need for pre-authorization or pre-certification for any test scheduled through DBM, thus ensuring more timely treatment for members and less work for the physician.

Kristina Guastaferri, Administrator of the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters Welfare Fund, states: “I am looking forward to working with a vendor who understands the importance of quality care and expert service.”
