DocuSource Certified Green, Helps Sustain Forests
One of Only Two Printers in the Triangle Area with FSC Certification

RTP, N.C. (February 25, 2009) – Now more than ever, there is a growing emphasis on renewable natural resources. Businesses are looking for ways to assure their vendors and strategic partners embrace eco-friendly practices. DocuSource, (www.docusourceofnc.com), a full-service resource for printing and communication materials, announces today that it has received Chain of Custody (CoC) certification through the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). The certification is earned by demonstrating a company’s compliance with environmentally responsible procurement policies.

DocuSource is one of only two printing companies in the Triangle area, and one of only 34 printers in North Carolina, to achieve certification. In the context of a printing company, FSC certification means that the paper being used can be traced back to its source through its CoC documentation. This includes clearly labeling all materials by their source type and percentage.

“The expert team at DocuSource is engaged to do our part to help sustain the environment and meet client requests for sustainable practices,” says Kathy Murchison, president and CEO of DocuSource of NC, LLC. “We all need to be aware of our impact on the planet. An important part is making sure that the paper we use is from a forest that is managed in a way that protects our natural resources.”

FSC certification is awarded to companies that manufacture, trade in or process forest products. The company must demonstrate compliance to specific forest procurement policies. FSC is recognized by corporate and governmental sectors as the model to ensure that forest resources are maintained for future generations.
