Dr. Energy Saver to Attend National Green Conference For Sustainable Deconstruction

New Haven, Conn. – Local energy saving enthusiast and contractor, Dr. Energy Saver™, is anticipating the arrival of the Building Materials Reuse Association’s (BMRA) DECON ’11 conference from May 15-19, 2011 at Yale University.

The BMRA’s national, annual conference on deconstruction, reuse, and recycling, aims to replace wasteful demolition practices that overload landfills with careful deconstruction that allows valuable building materials to be reclaimed and resold.

This year’s conference is pleased to announce Joel Lubell as the deconstruction trainer. Lubell is the program coordinator for Habitat for Humanity of Wake County. In addition to Lubell’s training, BMRA will be hosting tours of local green building, deconstruction and reuse material resources.

Reusing building materials has the potential to grow green jobs across the country– all the while cutting the carbon emissions associated with harvesting, processing and transporting virgin timber and other natural resources.

Dr. Energy Saver and the BMRA are encouraging everyone to attend the conference. From architects and salvage businesses, to local officials and waste haulers—sustainable deconstruction is applicable to all.

At the DECON ’11, Tim Snyder, green journalist and energy expert for Dr. Energy Saver, will explore, report, and spread the word about creating a more sustainable future in communities across the country.

“Green building encompasses many disciplines and activities,” Snyder explains. “At Dr. Energy Saver, we implement improvements to reduce energy consumption. This conference greatly appeals to me seeing as I’m a carpenter as well as a journalist, thus I’m concerned about salvaging and reusing materials rather than other more harmful methods.”
