CHICAGO, September 16, 2010 — New foreign documentary “Kindergarten” will air on nationwide broadcast channel Link TV this month and early next month. The airing represents the first time the film will be broadcast in the U.S. and is the inaugural effort of international documentary distribution by Living Earth Television (LETV).

The film was directed by one of China’s most celebrated documentary directors, Zhang Yiqing. The English version was created in 2010 by Living Earth Television NFP at LETV.org.

Enter the world of tiny children as they experience their first week of boarding school – where their parents drop them off on Monday and return to pick them up for the weekend. The children’s story unfolds without narration, through exquisite cinematography that brings the camera to their eye level.

The film will air at 8 p.m. Pacific Time Sept. 19; 3 a.m. PT Sept. 22; 5 p.m. PT Oct. 2 and 9 a.m. PT Oct. 3. It can also be viewed online now at http://www.linktv.org/programs/kindergarten. The program will later be available from LETV for educational use and home video.

This film is airing as part of Doc-Debut, a series on Link TV highlighting unique and groundbreaking international documentary films. Each week features the U.S. television premiere of a new foreign doc, offering American audiences unprecedented perspectives on world events and culture, as seen through the eyes of individuals across the globe. The series also provides a unique outlet for films by independent directors and producers to reach a much wider international audience.
