First Ever Circumnavigation of the world on foot. The last Great Expedition?

F

British Ultramarathon Athlete Kevin Carr is setting of in March2013 to become the first person to circumnavigate the globe on foot.

The Ultra runner aims to complete over 32 miles a day/210+miles a week to complete the 18,000+mile run in approx 18-19 months.

No stranger to feats of incredible endurance or to grabbing ‘firsts’ in 2009 Carr completed the first ever off-road, run between lands End & John O’Groats; the two furthermost points of the UK, running some 1,250+miles over rivers, coastal paths, beaches, wild moorlands and Mountains.

‘Rickshaw Running’ there is no support crew, Carr is pushing this extreme challenge beyond the limits, by making the attempt in a self sufficient manner, carrying all equipment, daily food and water rations and camping/sleeping kit in a purpose built trailer/rickshaw pulled behind him, much like the slays dragged in polar expeditions.
