Funding Boost For Three Clare Housing Projects

Minister of State Mr. Tony Killeen, T.D., has confirmed that capital funding has been approved for four housing projects in Ennis and the West Clare communities of Tullycreen and Knockadereen, located between Kilrush and Kilmihil.

Minister of State Killeen said the capital investment will provide some 22 units of accommodation for people with specific categories of need including older people, persons with an intellectual, mental or physical disability and homeless persons.

“I have been informed by my colleague, Mr. Michael Finneran TD Minister for Housing and Local Services, of his decision to approve funding that will allow for the provision of 12 units of accommodation at Cahercalla, Ennis (Cuan an Chlair Ltd), 6 units of accommodation at Glensheen, Gort Rd, Ennis (Banner Housing), and 4 units of accommodation at Tullycreen and Knockadereen (RRI)”, stated the Clare T.D.

Minister of State Killeen added: “I would like to compliment Clare County Council and the respective Housing Associations for working together on these proposed Schemes, which will provide much needed units of accommodation for disabled persons in Ennis and West Clare”.

“The approved housing bodies play a key role in delivering housing and related supports for people with disabilities, working in partnership with Clare County Council and mainstream services providers like the HSE. These housing associations provide practical and functional support to people with specific categories of housing need to live contentedly and independently in their community”, he concluded.

The Minister for Housing and Local Services, Mr. Michael Finneran TD, today announced a significant capital investment of over for a range of housing projects countrywide.
