Acrobatic Dance, as both an athletic sport and a performing art, has exploded in popularity over the last 10 years. It offers a dazzling array of unique skills and personalities to the audience.
Just this fall, a competitive Acrobatic Dance video began to spread virally across YouTube. The video showcases a group of incredible young girls demonstrating amazing strength and flexibility as they perform acrobatic and contortion tricks. The routine won multiple Diamond Awards and Judges’ Choice Awards across four regional competitions earlier this year.
The video is quickly approaching 100,000 views, an incredible accomplishment for these talented young women, many of whom aspire to one day join the world-famous Cirque du Soleil. The students were recently interviewed by The Ottawa Citizen as they auditioned for the Naitonal Circus School in Montreal, Quebec.
