IIM Lucknow’s Industry Interaction Committee organises Samvit 2009 – The Leaders’ Conclave
Interaction with the leaders of the corporate world to transfer knowledge from the leaders of today to the leaders of tomorrow
IIM Lucknow is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. As a part of the extended Silver Jubilee celebrations, the Industry Interaction Committee is hosting Samvit 2009 – The Leaders’ Conclave. This will see the participation of prominent leaders from various spheres coming together to shape a common vision for the future and share it with the leaders of tomorrow.
The theme for the conclave is ‘Emerging Pillars of the New Indian Economy’. The event would be convened by the master of ceremonies Mr. Sanjeev Srivastava, BBC India Editor.
The list of the keynote speakers for the Conclave includes Ms. Kalpana J Morparia, CEO, JPMorgan, Mr. Pramod Bhasin, Chairman-NASSCOM and President & CEO, Genpact, Mr. Ajit Balakrishnan, Founder & CEO – Rediff.com, Ms Meera Sanyal, Country Head, ABN AMRO, Dr. Biswadip Mitra, President & Managing Director, Texas Instruments India and Dr. Sandeep Pandey, Ramon Magsaysay Award Winner for Emergent Leadership, 2002.
“The Leaders’ Conclave is the largest takeaway for the industry personnel as they get an insight into the thought process of the young generation. The continuous industry interaction gives students an insight into current global trends and future business opportunities”, says Dr. Devi Singh, Director, IIM Lucknow.
“Samvit’09 is an endeavour to bring the best in the Industry to IIM Lucknow in order to transfer knowledge and insight from the leaders of today to the leaders of tomorrow. The conclave for this year seeks to delve into the intriguing Indian Economy and debate it threadbare. In the process, the conclave seeks to understand the economy’s cautious growth in the post recession world and the new age fundamentals that seem to be evolving as pillars of economic growth”, says Saranath N, Coordinator, Industry Interaction Committee, IIM Lucknow.
He further adds, “The conclave is significant in that, it is a big stride in the pursuit of the school’s objective to exponentially enhance Industry Interaction. The next generation leaders being groomed at IIM Lucknow will get an opportunity to expand their vista by interacting with the leaders of the corporate world. ”
The expected duration of each individual keynote address is 15 minutes, which will be followed by a Panel Discussion of 45 minutes. A Q&A session with the audience for approximately 20 minutes shall follow the panel discussion.
IIM Lucknow’s Industry Interaction committee regularly holds such events for the entire IIM community. It aims to transfer the vast knowledge pool from the leaders of today to the leaders of tomorrow, through a common platform for interaction. The students get an opportunity to harness the experiential learning that each speaker brings with him/her, while the industry gets a chance to create a niche for itself in the minds of the students.
IIM Lucknow will continue to host the conclave annually with the school already working on making the CEO conclave an International affair in 2010.
