Jet Airways Launches Services On The Kochi-Sharjah Sector

Jet Airways, India’s premier international airline, today launched services to the Gulf emirate of Sharjah, with the introduction of its daily service from Kochi, aboard a state-of-the-art Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

The launch of the airline’ inaugural flight to Sharjah was marked by a small prayer ceremony at Cochin International Airport in the presence of Jet Airways officials.

The new flight is Jet Airways’ fourth daily service to the Gulf from Kochi, complementing the airline’s existing daily services on the Kochi- Doha, Kuwait and Muscat sectors.

Following the launch of Jet Airways’ services on the Hyderabad-Dubai sector on August 16, 2009, the airline’s Kochi-Sharjah flight is also Jet Airways’ eighth daily service to the UAE from India.

The airline currently flies twice daily to Dubai from Mumbai and daily from Delhi and Chennai; and also operates daily services to Abu Dhabi from Delhi and Mumbai respectively.

Effective September 1, 2009 to October 24, 2009 and from March 28, 2010 to October 30, 2010, flight 9W 562 will depart Kochi at 1045 hrs, arriving in Sharjah at 1305 hrs. Flight 9W 561 will then depart Sharjah at 1415 hrs, arriving in Kochi at 1945 hrs.*

However, effective October 25, 2009 to March 27, 2010, flight 9W 562 will depart Kochi at 1045 hrs, arriving in Sharjah at 1325 hrs. Flight 9W 561 will then depart Sharjah at 1425 hrs, arriving in Kochi at 1945 hrs.*

Jet Airways currently flies to eight destinations in the Gulf including Kuwait, Bahrain, Muscat, Doha, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Jeddah from several Indian cities.
