EarthShine LED Lights, LLC is located in beautiful Portland, OR. The
weather of Portland actually inspired us to start using LED growlights
in our greenhouse during the relatively long, rainy winter season. Based
on the amazing results we witnessed first hand using LED grow lights, we
decided that we would form a company to help spread the use of this
wonderful technology. We try to offer the highest level of service and
our product carries a 3 year Warranty. With over 15 years of
electro-optic industry knowledge, we are also able to do custom
applications if needed, or try to answer any technical questions about
growing with LEDs you might have.
Earthshine LED Lights was started by Mike Hinds of Portland, Oregon.
Since attaining his Ph.D. in Physics from Clemson University in 1993,
Mike has been involved with several exciting technologies. His first job
out of school was with the Hubble Space Telescope where he developed
software to control the primary camera, WFPC-II. Moving on to a high-end
CCD research lab from there, Mike was able to gain significant hardware
expertise with PixelVision, Inc. Algorithm development, such as those
found in machine vision and medical imaging, plus some software
management has occupied most of Mike’s 17 year professional career.
Leading the firmware team at Cognex Corporation for 3 years gave Mike
his first management experience which continued for 2 years at MathStar,
Inc. MathStar was a maker of very high performance parallel processors.
From there Mike joined the CTO office at RadiSys where he focused on
medical imaging and parallel processing using GPUs. Around mid-2009 Mike
started working with LEDs, primarily how they can be used for growing
plants indoors economically. Founding EarthShine LED Lights in 2009,
Mike is now full-time on developing the market for LED indoor grow
lights and growing EarthShine LED Lights, LLC. For more information
