LoungeUp, a tech app for hotels, seals its first round of funding

L

LoungeUp, the first platform allowing hotels to create a mobile service for their clients, can announce today that it has raised funds of several hundred thousand euros (exact figure still confidential).

Founded in 2011 by Mathieu POLLET and Lionel TRESSENS (Ex CTO of Overblog), LoungeUp develops and commercialises an app designed for the hotel industry, which is directly accessible on the mobile devices of hotel guests: tablets, smartphones, laptops etc.

Thanks to LoungeUp, hotel guests with the application can, from their mobile:

– access practical information about the hotel and its surroundings (reserve a table in a local restaurant, for example)

– access entertainment content (newspapers, video games, etc.)

– interact with the hotel thanks to a messaging service

– check in on Facebook and meet other guests in the hotel using social media

– reply to simple customer satisfaction questions designed to allow hotel staff to correct any problems before the end of the stay

By using LoungeUp hotels reinforce customer satisfaction and increase upsales of extra services, while dealing with requests even more effectively.

LoungeUp is a start-up company fresh out of Le Campingâ, the famous French accelerator in Paris. The six months spent at Le Camping have helped us enormously. The mentors and the notoriety of Le Camping have opened many doors for us, both to future partners and to investors explain Mathieu and Lionel.

Our solution is already operational in nearly twenty hotels in France, such as the group Sibuet (St. Tropez, Megeve, Val Thorens), Holiday Inn in Paris or the Relais Chateaux in St Germain en Laye. We work hand in hand with them so as to develop a product that meets their needs as best as possibleâ, states Mathieu.

This fundraising was sealed with the investment fund Péle Capital and several Business Angels whose know how will be extremely useful for the founders of LoungeUp.  In this first group of signees there is Nicolas Baudy (e-tourism entrepreneur, previously VoyagesSNCF and Weekendesk), Francesco Maio (NowFashion, Attractive World) and even Didier Herrmann (ex President of Unilog).

This first round of financing will allow us to accelerate our commercialisation and to expand our group of partners both in France and In Europe says Mathieu Pollet, CEO of LoungeUp
