Rebellion Media Acquires Sports Portfolio

Rebellion Media established its presence in the online sports vertical today with the acquisition of a significant portfolio of ten combat sports websites, including fighters.com, fightline.com, mmatraining.com and mmaconvert.com.

“This is a suite of websites with an engaged community of over 2 million monthly unique visitors in one of the fastest growing sports worldwide â?? mixed martial arts. We intend to layer these sites on Rebellionâ??s TRACE platform to increase traffic, strengthen the personalization of the content and give our advertising partners more opportunities to reach their target market. Rebellion will replicate our aggressive acquisition strategy deployed with this combat sports portfolio to quickly create a diversified sports vertical,” said Ted Hastings, CEO of Rebellion Media.

Rebellion Media will leverage its TRACE platform across four targeted verticals â?? health wellness, technology, sports and entertainment. Through a series of acquisitions, Rebellion intends to unite loyal audiences and give those audiences more personalized and dynamic content.

“Combining with Rebellion Media is a great opportunity to upgrade our readersâ?? experience by giving them access to more targeted content while maintaining our vast network of freelance contributors whose rich contributions prove their passion for UFC and mixed martial arts,” explained Raj Giri, founder of fightline.com
