Lymphoedema Sufferer Turns to DEEP OSCILLATION® therapy from PhysioPod UK Ltd to Successfully Self Manage Her Condition

Helen’s Lymphoedema had significantly worsened after a holiday without her regular MLD sessions to maintain her condition. She arrived home and contacted PhysioPod UK Limited who recommended she visit her local London therapist (Sossi Yerissian) for a treatment course to assess her suitability for the therapy and evaluate the results for herself. Helen was impressed with the results achieved and decided to purchase a DEEP OSCILLATION® PERSONAL FITNESS to self manage her condition. She has not looked back.

Kent, UK, January 29, 2011 — I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 39 and had ‘the whole nine yards’ treatment including an operation, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy and lymph gland removal. Some four years later, after a bout of ‘flu I developed mild lymphodoema in my arm which I have managed, fairly successfully by having regular MLD massages and wearing a supportive sleeve.

After a holiday where I wasn’t able to have any MLD treatments, my condition significantly worsened. I decided it would be very helpful if I could treat the condition myself when I was away from London and decided to contact Physiopod.

The team at Physiopod were extremely helpful and informative. They suggested that I visit an MLD therapist in London who used the Physiopod system. I had a very useful session with her and decided to buy the smaller personal system to use at home.

I have found the Physiopod (DEEP OSCILLATION® PERSONAL FITNESS) very beneficial. It arrived with a card with a personalised treatment programme and in a well designed carrying case.

I was away for five weeks in the summer, used the Physiopod at least four or five times a week and found that it managed my condition very well. The system is easy to use and very portable. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone with lymphodoema. It was also very useful when I sprained my ankle! Helen, January 2011

Background
DEEP OSCILLATION® therapy has been in the UK and Ireland since late 2006/2007. The therapy is gentle, relaxing and easy to use (both for the therapist and for self-management) and it has clinically proven effects in all of the body’s tissue layers. Low frequency electrostatic impulses are introduced to the tissue layers by the gloved hand of the therapist or by a round applicator head which is also used for self management.

Many UK/Ireland MLD therapists are now using the therapy in combination with their techniques (Vodder/Casley Smith/Foldi/Medical Leduc). It is providing excellent results with all stages of Lymphoedema, including treatment of stubborn fibrosis. PhysioPod UK Limited recommend that all sufferers wanting to try the therapy should visit their website to find their nearest therapist http://www.physiopod.co.uk/manual-lymphatic-drainage-therapists.shtml and also read the testimonials of therapists and patients http://www.physiopod.co.uk/long-term-condtion-testimonials.shtml.
