Mango Concept announces latest upgrade in Oracle’s Business Intelligence product line: BI 11g

M

(New York, NY- June 23, 2010) Oracle has been working on a major upgrade in its Business Intelligence (BI) line for nearly four years and, following the release of the end of the corporation’s fiscal year in May, the release of BI 11g is set to arrive in early July.

Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (BIEE) 11g will include improvements in analytic processing, reporting, scalability, performance and system management. And, according to Oracle, the release will deliver an “unrivaled” end-user experience. 11g will also foster tight connectivity between BI and ERP (enterprise resource planning) systems. The central focus of 11g will revolve around continuing integration of the many BI products that Oracle has acquired in the past several years (specifically, those obtained from Hyperion, Siebel, and Golden Gate software). Hyperion contributed its EPM financial consolidation product line as well as Essbase (a leading database manager), while Golden Gate specializes in real time data warehousing. . Oracle has also indicated that its highly anticipated next-generation Fusion Applications, which are set to surface this year following a long delay, will incorporate pervasive BI capabilities.

Only a small percentage of the JDE customer base has a fully operational BI solution already in place, though all could see significant benefits from one. Users have been eagerly awaiting the release of 11g, whose exclusive “game-changing” enhancements should allow it to live up to the hype, according to Forrester Research analyst Boris Evelson.

The release of the highly-sophisticated BI upgrade will occur July 7th at an event in London, where Oracle president Charles Phillips and Thomas Kurian, executive vice president of product development, will deliver presentations. A rundown of breakout sessions planned for the event provides clues concerning the release’s feature set, and attendees will have the opportunity to learn about “an industry-first innovation that connects business intelligence directly to your business processes”, according to a statement. “You can spot an opportunity or issue an immediately initiate appropriate action directly from your dashboard”.
