Maryland Builder Association Joins Member Rebate Program

Many home builder associations now offer rebate programs on hundreds of building products to help their members survive in tough economic times.

Troy, AL, February 15, 2011 — The Maryland Builders Association has joined with homebuilder associations in eighteen other states to offer the Member Rebate Program to its membership. The association signed onto the program in early February, taking advantage of the combined buying power of its members and providing quarterly cash rebates on many of the products that builders and remodelers use every day.

The Member Rebate Program is a simple way for builders and remodelers to generate a cash payment for each project they complete. According to Richard Robinson of the Member Rebate Program, “Members receive a quarterly check based on the products they use from participating manufacturers. Even if they only specify products that a subcontractor buys, they can still get the rebate.” Robinson also points out how easy it is for a builder to participate in the program. “Builders and remodelers tell us that the paperwork only takes about 15 minutes each quarter and, since no receipts are necessary, it couldn’t be much easier. We also handle all the paperwork for the state associations.”

Mike Gibbons, V.P. of Sales and Marketing for HB&G Building Products, manufacturers of fiberglass porch columns, says “This is a great program for the struggling building industry. It really helps when builders can receive money back for many of the purchases they had already planned on making, especially in this economy.”

The Member Rebate Program collects the rebates from the manufacturers and mails out checks to the builders. Builders qualify for the program based on their membership in their state builders association, and not based on the quantities they purchase. The more manufacturers a builder uses from the program, the more money they can make. As the Member Rebate Program continues to add new state associations, more builders will have the potential for to make money with the program.
