University of Pertroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) is the first of its kind in India and Asia. Established by an act of Legislation in the State Legislature of Uttarakhand, the University was established in Dehradun in the year 2003.
It is recognized by the University Grants Commission and accredited by many institutions which include National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, The Energy Institution of United Kingdom, International Standards Organization certified, the premeir institution is dedicated in offering its services in the fields of Energy, Oil & Gas, Electronics, Infrastructure, Transportation, Information Technology, Logistics and Supply Chain, International Business and Legal Studies.

University of Petroleum and Energy Studies was established in the year 2003 in Dehradun, Jharkhand by an act in state legislature.
