MFI International was recently awarded for its outstanding performance in environmental compliance by the State of Chihuahua, Secretariat of Urban and Environmental Development, during the year of 2008-2009.
El Paso, TX, September 22, 2009 — MFI International was recently awarded for its outstanding performance in environmental compliance by the State of Chihuahua, Secretariat of Urban and Environmental Development, during the year of 2008-2009.
The award promoted by the State of Chihuahua, through the Secretariat of Urban and Environmental Development, encourages good environmental practices in the maquiladora industry (manufacturing in Mexico industry), as well as overall compliance of State and Federal laws to protect the environment.
The award was received by Tomas Mena, Director of Shelter Services division of MFI International, on behalf Mexico’s operations team. According to Mr. Mena, “It’s important for our company to maintain a balance between our manufacturing practices and the environment. We are committed to comply with State of Chihuahua and Mexico’s environmental laws, and efficiently preserve on energy, water and other resources which allows us to streamline our Mexican operations”.
Amongst other maquiladoras and Shelter Services Providers awarded in Ciudad Juarez manufacturing industry were: Ansell Perry de Mexico, Capsonic, Davol Surgical Instruments, Eagle Ottawa, Delphi, Intermex, Lexmark, Motorola de Juarez, Plexus Electronics, Tatung and Electrolux Home Products.
