For the first time in its 20+ year history, MIR Corporation, specializing in travel to the crossroads of Europe and Asia is proud to offer travelers that choose MIR the opportunity to attend the Golden Eagle Festival in Western Mongolia, the Naadam Festival in UlaanBaatar, Mongolia and the Rose Festival in Bulgaria.

Seattle, WA, January 15, 2010 — 2010 will be the first time in 24 years that MIR Corporation, specializing in travel to the crossroads of Europe and Asia, offers small group tours featuring three different international festivals – Western Mongolia’s Golden Eagle Festival, the annual Rose Festival in Bulgaria’s Valley of Roses, and the extraordinary Naadam Festival in Mongolia’s capital, UlaanBaatar.

In introducing its newest tour offering, Mongolia’s Golden Eagle Festival, September 27 – October 6, 2010, MIR builds on its reputation for travel in Mongolia’s outback, searching out new experiences for adventurous travelers.

At the Golden Eagle Festival in Mongolia’s remote, westernmost region, the speed and agility of the eagles and the bond between hunter and bird is tested and celebrated. The opening ceremony begins with a parade to highlight the craftsmanship of the traditional costumes and hunting gear and continues with an evening performance in honor of the participants. The next day’s competition finds the eagles attacking fox skins dragged by their trainers, with judges evaluating their skill at hitting the target, their diving speed and gripping technique. It’s a truly unique cultural experience.

The company is already an acknowledged Naadam Festival expert, and in 2010 offers four different tours that include attendance at Mongolia’s Naadam Festival:

Trans-Siberian By Private Train: Mongolian Route between Moscow and UlaanBaatar: July 1-13 (Eastbound) and July 10-22 (Westbound)

Siberia & Mongolia: Spirits & Nomads: June 28 – July 16
Mongolian Explorer: The Gobi & Beyond: June 30 – July 13
Mongolia to Moscow: A Trans-Siberian Railway Adventure: July 10-24

In another first for MIR, their small group tour Bulgaria & Romania: Frescoes and Fortresses, June 1-17 2010, coincides with the 2010 Rose Festival. Marking the annual harvest of the fragrant Kazanluk rose, the Rose Festival attracts folklore aficionados, students of art and architecture and lovers of antiquity as well as rose enthusiasts.
