MOL Appoints DeSimon as AVP Contract Management – Area Operations

LONDON, 30 July 2008 ― Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) announced today that Dick DeSimon has been appointed Assistant Vice President for Contract Management, Area Operations.

Adding to his current responsibilities, which include North America Rail Purchasing and Contracting, DeSimon will also be responsible for North America Marine Terminal Contracting and Purchasing including:

• Marine and inland CY vendor negotiations
• Vendor regulatory requirements
• Terminal performance budgeting and cost control
• Hazmat process control

Scott Winn, Manager Terminal Operations, Concord, California, and Cindy Elwood, Manager of the Atlanta Container Terminal will report to DeSimon as well as his existing Chicago based team.

A 1969 graduate of Notre Dame University with a BBA, DeSimon has been with MOL since 1992 in various key management positions including AVP Midwest Region Operations, AVP Network Operations and AVP Transportation Purchasing. Prior to joining MOL, DeSimon spent 16 years with Sea-Land and three with Nedlloyd in various Operations positions.
