RALEIGH, N.C. (November 2, 2009)—Branding and public relations firm Articulon (www.articulon.com) announces today that it has been named the agency of record for MS Events (www.mseventsnc.org), a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds for local causes through producing endurance events. For the second consecutive year, the Raleigh-based firm is managing marketing and public relations efforts including Web development and media outreach.

While Articulon will continue to build brand awareness of its three core events in print, a greater emphasis will be placed on messaging with integrated marketing. The 2009-2010 season starts with the Ridgewood Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day, followed by the St. Patty’s Run Green 8K, and the bike tour Cup ‘n Cone next July. All three events benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society of Eastern North Carolina.

“The bike and foot races that MS Events produces continue to focus on raising funds and awareness of MS,” says Cindy Stranad, Articulon principal. “We are proud to further our long-standing relationship.”

2009 marks the third year Articulon has worked with MS Events on its signature fundraising event, the Ridgewood Turkey Trot. Articulon’s efforts have helped increase participant support by more than 60 percent.

Earlier this year, Articulon and MS Events collaborated on the inaugural St. Patty’s Run Green 8K. The run attracted nearly 900 participants, exceeding the expectation of MS Events director, Bruce Bokish. In addition, the firm provided communication support for the fifth annual Cup ‘n Cone Tour, which had a 30 percent increase in participation compared to 2008.

“Building on the success of the Turkey Trot, this year we engaged Articulon to assist with all of MS Events’ fundraising efforts,” says Bokish. “The partnership is integral to the growth of our organization and its events.”

Articulon remains committed to working with area nonprofit organizations to increase awareness of their cause-based initiatives. In addition to working with MS Events, the company has collaborated on projects with the National Kidney Foundation of North Carolina, Special Olympics North Carolina, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society of Eastern North Carolina, the Spastic Paraplegia Foundation and the Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities.
