Microsoft will be hoping to avoid the negative publicity and criticism that its last operating system, Vista, received when first launched.

Bristol, UK, October 19, 2009 — Both Intel and Microsoft as the joint creators of the new system say they have dedicated more resources than ever before to ensure this is the best operating system yet.

Nick Richards from a Bristol based computer repair company Computer Geeks says: “We noticed that a lot of our clients experienced difficulties with Vista right from the start. The original product had an awful lot of bugs that caused businesses technical issues in their operations and in reality downtime and money.”

Mr. Richards from the Bristol computer repair company goes on to explain: “We saw a lot of businesses and individuals actually deciding to buy Mac computers instead of those relying on Windows operating systems such was the adverse reaction to Windows Vista. In fairness it is a pretty good operating system but customers buying from a company the size of Microsoft didn’t expect to purchase a product with such teething problems. Many of the call outs for PC repairs in Bristol we had were actually simply to address mostly compatibility problems caused by Vista.”

The new system it is claimed will offer considerable performance and energy efficiency benefits. It is also designed to enable quicker start up times. Other key features include a new taskbar for quicker access to programs and files, ‘HomeGroup’ which will allow easier data sharing across PCs, better support for external devices such as cameras and mobile phone, improvements to applications such as calculator and MS paint, touch screen software for appropriate devices.

With the majority of PC users still using Windows operating systems there will be millions of people anticipating, eagerly or otherwise, the new Windows 7.
