Comic book enthusiast turns his love of comics into developing the ultimate comic book software- and then gives it away! Joe Butler’s passion for Spiderman and for the comic book industry is winning converts every day.

Hendersonville, TN,Dec04.2007—What started as a comic reading hobby and developed into a massive Spiderman collection has morphed again. Now Joe Butler’s love of comic books is being fulfilled in his latest version of Comic Collector Live software. Available for download on the company’s website at no cost, the newest software is winning fans from individual collectors and casual readers to comic book retailers.

“I guess I have taken a hobby and turned it into a joyful experience for thousands of comic book enthusiasts,” says Butler. “Our members (nearly 50,000) keep telling us what they’d like to see in software and we continue to add features based on what they want. With our latest update users can preview cover art of collected issues. Preview cover art of missing issues (gaps). Mass edit selected fields. Easily upload items to the web site to sell. Add any gaps in your collection to the wish list. And get instant notification when wish list items become available!”

Comic Collector Live has been active with their buying and selling capability since July 4th of this year, and already has built an entire database of comic books complete with cover art and vital information. Steve Boyd, CCL’s Chief Researcher and Event Coordinator says in his 25 years in the industry, he’s never seen a software at any price with so many user friendly features. “Comic Collector Live started out with the idea of developing not just an organizing system for comics, but an entire community where comic book enthusiasts can talk comics, build a collection using their wish lists, and view cover art. This is comic book Heaven,” said Boyd.

The Comic Collector Live website boasts a wish list that is on pace to exceed 1 million comics before the end of this year. And with the addition of some large retailers using CCL’s selling system, the website should offer over 400 thousand comics by early January of 2008. Comic Collector Live is partnering with others in the comic book industry and is aligned with CGC, Big City Comics, AAM-Markosia (UK), Moonstone Publishing, and ComicsPro “I believe the more we all work together the more we benefit the industry as a whole”, says Butler.
