Houdini Museum story explodes worldwide. The Uri Geller – Criss Angel Million Dollar Challenge Controversy spreads across the Internet and YouTube.

Scranton, PA. December 5 2007– On the finale of NBC TV’s “Phenomenon,” Wednesday night November 15, something caught the eye and ear of Dick Brooks, director of the famous Houdini Museum, in Scranton, PA. Magician Criss Angel, challenged Uri Geller for one million dollars to tell what was in an envelope that he tauntingly held up. In less than 18 seconds Geller blurted out the numbers 911 that was hidden in the envelope, although no one realized it, until it was pointed out later by Mr. Brooks.

Brooks is a renowned psychic investigator and paranormalist. He later interviewed Geller; “It was strange. When Angel challenged me, I rattled out dates. It was not rehearsed. Why dates? Not words or images. I had no idea why till now. That’s how these things happen to me. I said; 1, 19 which reversed is 911. I also said the numbers 20 and 1, which is close to 2001. What are the odds of that? In Europe, where I’m from the date 911 is 119” Geller continued; “Maybe if he would’t have quickly cut me off, I’d have zeroed in not only on 911, but the whole year 2001. If this was a test in a laboratory they’d all be considered hits. If Criss comes up with the $1,000,000 I’ll give it to children’s charities. So it would be a win-win for us both. Skeptic will say it was luck, but look at the video”

Video repeats have popped up on youtube.com pointing out the hits as they occurred. Combined they now total about 4,000 viewers. Go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyB3EgwSBjE

On an earlier show Angel challenged Geller and medium Jim Callahan as to the envelope’s contents. An argument broke out with Angel and Callahan. They almost came to blows. Brooks interviewed Callahan, “I accepted the challenge through the producers .. as well as publicly on the NBC forum. But no proof Angel has a million in liquid assets to pay out.”

Dick Brooks, and magician co-director Dorothy Dietrich of the Houdini Museum in Scranton, PA will continue to follow up on the story. It’s theworld’s only building dedicated to Houdini and a source worldwide for information about Houdini. Brooks also headlines Scranton’s Psychic Theater stage show “Haunted, Mind Mysteries & THE Beyond which is
America’s longest running paranormal show. It’s a three hour evening with tests in mind control, telepathy, telekinesis, sightless vision, and ends with a recreation of an old time seance. The theater event tells of hauntings dating back to Houdini’s time that happen in the building. They include a murder, suicide, and anelectrocution. The event then explores the pros and cons of such beliefs. Scranton and Gettysburg in Pennsylvania is considered the most haunted cities in the world, because of the miners that died trapped in the mines and the
soldiers who died at Gettysburg in the Civil War.
