FasterPay takes advantage of the “Faster Payment Service” devised by 13 UK banks and building societies that allows 97% of UK banking customers to send money instantly.
With FasterPay there are no passwords or registration process involved. Each transaction takes place via a customers Internet banking portal. Paying online via the familiar surroundings of their existing Internet Banking, gives the customer significant peace of mind. At no point does FasterPay share any personal or financial customer data with a 3rd party.
Similar solutions are very popular in other EEC countries, such as The Netherlands, where a similar service to FasterPay proved its popularity during 2008 by processing in excess of 15 million transactions during 2008.
With FasterPay, online merchants can start to share in this rapidly growing revenue stream.
FasterPay is attractive to online merchants because it offers flexibility, without set-up costs or minimum term.
It has a commission structure of less than 0.3%, which competes on a per-transaction basis with credit cards, but without the threat of merchants falling victim to fraud via charge backs, a major concern for online retailers.
Once a payment has been made, it cannot be recalled by a customer. This gives online merchants immunity to credit card fraud.
