Cleveland, OH, August 24, 2010 — New children’s book author, Debbie Berger, recently published My Visit to the Land of Childhood, a heartwarming tale about an adult who helps a boy deal with his anxiety over leaving behind his childhood. The Ohio-based mother of two feels she may have gotten the inspiration for writing the book from her role in helping her sons grow from children to adults. “My sons and I have a very close and open relationship,” stated the author, “because I’ve always wanted them to feel comfortable being able to come to me with anything that was on their minds.” My Visit to the Land of Childhood ( http://www.halopublishing.com )promotes this type of open and unguarded conversation between adults and children, the kind of dialog that calms fears and encourages an all-around sense of security and mental well-being. Berger hopes the book will allow kids to realize that it isn’t so bad to grow up along with revealing to them different ways of expressing themselves. “My main message with the book is that I want children to learn to trust in the fact that there are adults to help them overcome hurdles and deal with any obstacle that comes along.”

Berger has been a writer and poet for as long as she can remember and even recalls receiving recognition from grade-school teachers on some of her early poetry projects. However, it was only as an adult did she realize her true talent in poetry and decided to pursue a lifelong dream of writing and publishing her own book. “I wrote My Visit to the Land of Childhood ( http://www.halopublishing.com ) some time ago,” admitted the author, “but it took me over a year to refine it and get it just right.” Berger’s book is unique in that it not only reveals an important message, but it also introduces children to poetry. “The entire book is written in verse,” stated Berger, “as I feel it is beneficial to introduce poetry to children at a young age.”

My Visit to the Land of Childhood ( http://www.halopublishing.com ) offers a journey back in time for adults as well as a window into what adulthood has in store for children. “I hope the book will promote children’s imaginations and that they get excited about what life has in store for them,” stated Berger. “Also, I want readers to realize that even though they grow up, the kid inside them still exists. With a little imagination they can return to childhood for a visit.” Along with writing poetry, Debbie Berger enjoys swimming, reading, working out, and still being a mom. The author resides in Cleveland, Ohio and has two sons, Cory (27) and Cole (21). To order My Visit to the Land of Childhood please contact http://www.halopublishing.com.
