Orion Windows Gets Behind The Windows Scrappage Scheme

O

Orion Windows based in North Yorkshire has become the latest company to support The Windows Scrappage Scheme. An installer of conservatories, orangeries, double glazing and upvc windows and doors they are fully aware of the effects of poorly fitted, ageing, inefficient windows. As a company Orion windows are passionate about preserving the planet for future generations and they believe that The Windows Scrappage Scheme could help to make this happen.

The Windows Scrappage Scheme is a petition to the government which has been set up by the Glass and Glazing Federations (GGF). If the scheme gets the go ahead the government would offer homeowners and landlords an incentive of £1000 towards the cost of professionally replacing inefficient windows with highly efficient double glazing.
The government has set itself ambitious targets of lowering the amount of UK CO2 emissions by 30% by 2030. Households are one of the largest contributors to CO2 emissions and up to 25% of the heat generated in a home can be lost through inefficient windows. Therefore by installing double glazing and improving the energy efficiency of the UK housing stock the government would be a step closer to meeting their CO2 emissions targets.

Orion Windows fully supports The Windows Scrappage Scheme and encourages as many people as possible to visit http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/windowscrappage/ and sign the petition themselves.
