Chef Charles Wade Schwerd’s Latest Restaurant Rings in 2011 with a Bang with popular musicians Obadiah Parker.
Peoria, AZ, December 30, 2010 — Say goodbye to 2010 at the west Valley’s newest restaurant, Blu Agave Arizona Kitchen, as Chef Charles Wade Schwerd rings in the New Year with his own brand of Arizona-inspired food.
Schwerd has whipped up a special menu that celebrates Arizona at Blu Agave and that menu will be on display during the restaurant’s first New Year’s Eve bash.
Revelers can ring in the New Year while enjoying a signature cocktail for Blu Agave, the Bulldog, which will be offered at half price until midnight. The Bulldog, developed by Managing Partner Christina Ricke’s son, Corey, consists of a special Blu Agave Margarita with a Corona submerged in it.
From 9 p.m. until 1 a.m., Valley musicians Obadiah Parker will be performing on the patio. Obadiah Parker scored a top 10 iTunes hit in 2007 with their version of Outkast’s “Hey Ya,” which was feature on radio stations across the country, featured in an episode of Scrubs and was viewed more than seven million times on YouTube.
“We want everyone to celebrate not only the New Year but also our new restaurant,” Schwerd said.
Ricke agrees. “Watch the ball drop on one of our six televisions, enjoy the great music of Obadiah Parker and toast the New Year with a complimentary champagne toast at midnight.”
Schwerd, who also owns Arrowhead Grill in Glendale, has spent the past two decades carving out a reputation as one of the Valley’s finest chefs at restaurants such as Scottsdale’s Mastro’s Steakhouse, Mastro’s Ocean Club and Drinkwater’s City Hall Steakhouse as well as John Elway’s Steakhouse in Denver, Colo.
Located in the community of Vistancia in Peoria, Blu Agave Arizona Kitchen reflects Schwerd’s culinary pedigree but without any pretension.
