The Top 3 best-selling sandwiches will go on to the Grand Finale, where a panel of judges will chose which sandwich will win the showdown.
Morrisville, NC, July 27, 2010 — The polls have closed, the votes have been tallied, and 3 sandwiches have risen above the rest: The Bistro Club, by Coty Cockrell, the Peppy Pesto by Brendan Rahilly and the Trippin’ Chicken by Katie Quinn have made it to the final round of The Peppers Cup 2010: The Great Sandwich Showdown, a contest to let customers of Peppers Market & Sandwich Shop determine a new item to be added to their menu.
In Round 1, Peppers collected custom sandwich designs from their customers, looking for the perfect combination of unique toppings and incredible taste. In Round 2, the Peppers staff narrowed it down to the Top 10, which were then placed on a special contest menu for 10 days to determine the Top 3 bestsellers.
“We were amazed at the level of enthusiasm,” said Peppers co-owner, Jess Fowler, who revealed that over 500 sandwiches were ordered off of the Top 10 menu from July 13th – July 23rd. “People were coming back two and three times to vote for their favorites!”

The Grand Finale event will be held at Peppers Market & Sandwich Shop on Saturday, July 31st from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm, and the general public is invited to participate in the festivities!

Mayor Holcombe is excited to contribute, “This such a fun, unique and tasty way to support a locally-owned Morrisville restaurant and I’m really looking forward to participating.” She also pointed out that the contest is well timed, considering the upcoming launch of Morrisville’s Dine Local program that is being coordinated by the Morrisville Chamber of Commerce.
The winning sandwich will be added to Peppers menu, and the winning “designer” will receive $250.00 in gifts and prizes. The prize pack consists of gifts and coupons from other area retailers, including Starbucks, Walgreens, Red Polish, Care First Animal Clinic, Color Salon, Triangle Eye Institute, BB&T, Morrisville Pharmacy, Pristine Auto Spa, Grace Park, and Peppers Market.
