Pottstown, PA July 26th 2010: Performance Food Centers congratulates Five Points Washington on the opening of their Juice Bar cart, Take Five. Located in Washington, Illinois, Five Points is a 136,000 sq ft multi-purpose nonprofit facility featuring all the amenities necessary for overall wellness. In addition to a fitness and aquatics center, it houses a 2 court gymnasium, 1020 seat performing arts center, 4 banquet meeting rooms that can sit up to a total of 500 people and the town’s library.

Five Points originally started as an idea for a three million dollar fitness center in the city of Washington, Illinois and blossomed into a large multi-purpose facility with a partnership among the City of Washington, the Washington Park District, Washington Community High School, Washington District Library and the Washington Area Community Center Board. Vikki Poorman, General Manager of the facility adds, “We are very focused as a facility in creating relationships with our members and customers. And I think our retention rate of 79% reflects that.”

In fact, a devotion to their members needs is what drove them to open their Juice Bar Cart within the facility. Poorman mentions, “Our members wanted one and we do what we can to provide for them to help fill their needs.” Continuing on why they added a Juice Bar to the facility, she adds, “It’s just a perfect fit with our mission which is to facilitate and promote opportunities for area citizens of all ages to expand their minds, optimize their physical well being and to enhance their quality of life.”

In search of a Juice Bar supplier, Vikki Poorman was familiar with Performance Food Centers as she has been in the fitness and wellness industry for many years. Her goal was to find a company that was as passionate about real nutrition as her company. Poorman adds, “I choose PFC because I have a MS in Nutrition and PFC was clearly the company who best promotes the whole food concept and sound nutritional choices that I believe in. “She continues, “I like that fact that there is no added sugar, no preservatives, no waste of nutrients in their products and best of all, everything tastes great!”
“So far my experience with PFC has been great.” mentions Vikki Poorman. “They have worked with our company to give us exactly what we need for our facility.” After Performance Food Centers Founder and CEO Dan Young came to Five Points to perform some onsite training Vikki mentions, “Dan is amazing. He walks the talk so you know he is not just telling you what he thinks you want to hear. That creates a trust and makes it easy to pass along to your members.”

In speaking of Vikki’s favorite PFC shake, she mentions, “No way I could choose. I haven’t tasted one I don’t like. It really depends on your mood and nutritional need at the time. Although, I would have to say anything with peanut butter or chocolate protein gets a thumbs up from me.”

Five Points will have their grand opening for their Juice Bar, Take Five starting Friday, July 30 through Wednesday, August 4th. Dan Young, along with the Juice Bar Consultants and Juice Bar Designers at Performance Food Centers congratulates Five Points on their opening and is very happy to welcome them to their growing family of over 900 Juice Bars nationwide.
