Brea, CA, March 22, 2010 — Peternity.com, an online leader in pet memorials has partnered with A Journey With Wings, a father-daughter flying team who specialize in scattering human and pet ashes.

According to Packaged Facts U.S. Pet Market Outlook 2009-2010, 91% of pet owners agree that they consider their pets a part of the family. This is strongly reflected in the burgeoning growth of the pet memorial industry, where pet owners are finding more and more creative ways to memorialize their treasured 4 legged family members. Aerial ash scattering is a part of this growing trend.

A Journey With Wings, the father-daughter team of Robert Pavel and Jamie Tanabe, have partnered with Peternity.com to expand their ash scattering services to pet owners. Pavel and Tanabe have been scattering ashes for people since 2002. They started flying together in 1992 when Tanabe signed them both up for flying lessons as a birthday present. Aerial ash scattering for pets is gaining in popularity as a “green” pet memorial option. Aerial ash scattering has wide appeal for those that would like their loved one to return to nature in a very peaceful and natural way.

Based in Southern California, A Journey With Wings offer several different packages in a wide variety of locations in the Southwest. They scatter over the ocean, desert, mountains, state parks and really wherever the customer requests (with permission from the landowners of course). Their scattering locations include the southern California coastline, the Sierra Nevadas, Nevada National Parks, Lake Tahoe and Southern California deserts.

Families have several options for degrees of participation and pricing – Unwitnessed, Witnessed or Private. Unwitnessed packages start as low as $350 and allow the pet owner to watch the plane depart. Witnessed allows the pet owner to watch the plane fly overhead and scatter the ashes. Prices range on upward to Private, where up to 4 family members can be in the plane with the option of pulling the lever to release the ashes. The ashes are released through a special device out of the bottom of the aircraft. Depending on the location, prices can range up to $3,500.
