PGCC Placement Director is PGA Honoree

Tony Austin, instructor at the Professional Golfers Career College’s Orlando campus, is a well decorated golf veteran. A master of many facets of the game, Tony has been with PGCC since 2005, and since that time he has made a significant impact on students learning about the rules of golf, communication and principles of career success, under his experienced and watchful eye. Mr. Austin is supremely qualified to instruct on any number of golf topics, with respect to his rich history in the industry.

1990 was the first of seven consecutive years that facilities under his management were featured as one of Golf Shop Operations Magazine’s “Top 100 Golf Shops in America”. In 1992 & ‘93 Tony was named Merchandiser of the Year by the North Florida Section of the PGA, and later that same year, he was hailed as the National Merchandiser of the Year, by the PGA. Tony can also be credited with over a decade of experience with PGA section leadership, and an election to the Board of Directors of the PGA of America, serving from 2004 to 2008 in that capacity.

He is no stranger to the flip side of academia, during his time as a student in the PGA Business School I he received the highest score in his class and, unsurprisingly, in the PGA Business School II, he received the highest score in the Nation. It is because of this passion for excellence that he remains a devoted scholar of the game, mentor to young golfers, eager to follow in his footsteps, and an exceptional Placement Director at PGCC Orlando.
