(Yonkers, NY, November 24, 2009) When E.B. White described the martini as “the elixir of quietude”, he was without a doubt NOT referring to its pickletini incarnation. After the Pickletini Premier Party at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 9th, guests of Pour on Main Street in Mt. Kisco will be inclined to agree.
Horman’s Best Pickles (www.hormansbestpickles.com) and Pour Café & Wine Bar (www.pourmtkisco.com) are teaming up to present an event unlike anything Westchester County has seen before. The cost per person, which includes one pickletini and assorted pickle-based tapas.
This event marks Horman’s Best Pickles’ Westchester debut. Company founder, Nick Horman and his team will bringing his passion for pickles to the county’s local indoor festivals and farm markets. His “fresh out of the barrel” outlets will include the Mount Kisco Farmers Market at the Boys and Girls Club starting on January 9th and the monthly indoor market at the White Plains County Center, where he launched on November 22nd. An entrepreneur and third generation pickler with a background in philosophy, Nick is rapidly spreading his “picklosophy” throughout New York State and his pickles just won two Blue Ribbons at the International Pickle Festival.
“Pickle lovers are a passionate and engaged group,” says 26-year old Nick. “When you get them together in a room, debates and discussions of favorite varieties always ensue. And we are confident that Horman’s Pickletinis will really get the brine flowing!” he asserts.
Attendees will be introduced to unique blends of assorted vodkas and gins with fresh pickle juice from Horman’s Best. The Stuffed Pickle is just one of the many crowd-pleasing hors d’oeuvres that Pour owner Anthony Colasacco has invented to galvanize taste buds.
Horman’s Best specializes in the full spectrum of pickle varieties. This event will showcase Horman’s bread and butter, which includes: Honey Mustard, Spicy Sour, New Dill, Kosher Dill, Horseradish, Red Flannel, Sour, and Hot Cherry Peppers.
