No price Increases for World Cup 2010

CAPE TOWN, South Africa (February 6 2010) – As the Football World Cup 2010 approaches, much talk and speculation has gripped the media about about sky high pricing and what is termed ‘price gouging’. One company, Cape Town Day Tours has a different view.

“Cape Town Day Tours has always prided itself on giving real value for money and showing the guests the best there is in Cape Town and surrounds. We will be busy during the World cup, but our business is much more than just a month. Rather we wish to see visitors and friends of visitors for years to come. We see the World cup as an opportunity to showcase ourselves and our beautiful city. Therefore there will be no increases in prices for our Day Tours during the Fifa 2010 World Cup.” – Warren Marks CEO. Cape Town Day Tours.

Recent weeks has seen much speculation and debate about huge price increases during the time of the World Cup. Price increases of between 200 and 400% have been mentioned as applying to accommodation and transport establishments including airlines.

“We hope for a successful World Cup. Times are not easy during one of the most difficult recessions in recent years. In Cape Town and South Africa there are many establishments keeping prices level to make this occasion a memorable one. There are also those who are short sighted enough to see how much they can squeeze out of the event. To all visitors coming for the event, shop around there is much value still to be found.” – Warren Marks, Cape Town Day Tours
