Metuchen, NJ (August 11, 2009) Passion River Films has been acquired for release of Island Gateway Films “Veritas“, a feature-length film documenting the senior wrestling season of Jon Trenge as he strives to achieve his childhood dream of becoming a National Champion for his hometown school, Lehigh University. “Veritas” is now available for save on Netflix and is set to hit the street on September 15, 2009.
After undergoing five eye surgeries, Jon ignores the advice of doctors and chooses to wrestle, risking permanent blindness every time he steps onto the mat. Jon’s opponents intentionally attack his eyes, frustrating and injuring him, and Jon is suspended from the team for fighting while defending his eyes.
Jon accepts the guidance of his trusted coach and agrees to undergo anger management therapy to investigate the origin of his anger. Once reinstated on the team, Jon takes his final shot at realizing his lifelong dream of becoming a National Champion, and achieves the unexpected success of growing into a man along the way.
