Wildrose Vacations Subject of Investigation by Service Alberta

Alberta based travel club being scrutinized over refund policies that customers had taken advantage of.

Scottsdale, AZ, November 02, 2009 — Wildrose Vacations has been the leader in travel club sales for quite a few years now, and with all their success comes some unhappy consumers that expect to get something for nothing. The story begins with prospective clients attending an informal wine and cheese reception at their preview center after which they have a choice to either join or pass on their membership. At the point of sale, Wildrose Vacations has added some promotional items such as large screen TV’s or luggage for consumers joining their membership in full. However, if the customer then decides to exercise his right to cancel under the Service Alberta law they have 10 days to do so. At that point, it is only fair that the client be expected to return any items given as an extra incentive for the sale.

Unfortunately, this was not the case with a few people who not only expected a full refund but they also expected to keep a free TV or luggage. “It is just amazing” say’s Lance Gore, “how people can expect to not need to return their promotional items knowing full well that they were given only to clients who paid in full for their membership.” He goes on to say, “We always give their money back as required, but for them to then expect to keep extra promotional materials is just so wrong!”

For this reason, Wildrose Vacations has always advised consumers that they would not receive a refund till all promotional material had been returned as is according to Service Alberta laws regarding Travel Clubs. The law states that a full refund must given within 15 days of purchase however the Travel club is entitled to reasonable compensation for the goods or services provided by the travel club operator, but the travel club operators right under the subsection does not arise until the travel club operator complies with section 1.

“Wildrose Vacations has been a leader in the Travel club business for many years and will continue to be” say’s Gore. “We do our best to give people the quality vacations they deserve and it is unfortunate that laws like these have been enforced so people can take advantage of loopholes for there own gain.”

Wildrose Vacations has been a pillar of the community both in Calgary and Edmonton. This company believes in helping the less fortunate in trouble times and will continue to do so in the future. The Food Bank, Project Warmth, and Santa’s Anonymous are just some of the organizations Wildrose Vacation continues to support.
