XShot is sponsoring the Raiders of the Lost Tuk team, racing in a rickshaw on a 2,000 mile, two week trek across India for charity.

Santa Barbara, CA, September 24, 2010 — XShot, the Camera Extender company that puts smiles on people’s faces, is proud to be part of a great adventure for such a noble cause. The Rickshaw Run is organized by The League of Adventurists and is a 2,000 mile, two week tuk-tuk trek across the entire sub-continent of India, all in the name of raising awareness for Juvenile Diabetes. Tuk-tuk is short for auto-rickshaw, a three-wheel common form of transportation usually meant for only short distances in and around cities in India.

XShot is supporting the Raiders of the Lost Tuk team, composed of three friends: Brianna Limebrook, Kate DeWald and a long time XShot friend Jim Matheson. “When Jim contacted us with his unique project, it felt like a perfect match and a great cause, especially as Jim himself suffers from Type 1 diabetes. XShot is all about helping you capture the right photo when you travel. The rickshaw is quite a vessel and we are excited to see all of the amazing tuk-tuk pictures that could not be captured without the aid of the XShot,” said John Stump, co-founder of XShot.

The team is racing across India to raise funds and awareness for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and is also providing funds for Friends of Maiti Nepal to provide education and safe homes for victims of sexual trafficking and abuse in Nepal & India.

“XShot provided us with a few XShot 2.0’s and iPhone 3G/3Gs cases which we gave away at our charity events and a few more that we will be taking on our trip. They also donated a few of their Tuk-Tuk Mounts….ok well they are actually called Kayak Mounts, but will serve the same purpose – we will attach them to our rickshaw, along with the GoPro cameras we received, to shoot some amazing footage along the run.” said Jim Matheson.

The XShot Kayak mounts have been mounted at the front and side of the rickshaw to hold the XShot Camera extenders and shoot in action while driving. XShot Camera Extenders are also being used while sightseeing and inside the rickshaw to document the journey.

The Raiders of the Lost Tuk are still accepting donations online at LostTuk.com. Please check them out and support them.
