Mariposa, CA, June 10, 2010 — The Yosemite/Mariposa County Tourism Bureau (YMCTB) and Jeffrey Hentz, Executive Director, were recently honored for excellence in industry partner programs by the California Travel and Tourism Commission (CTTC), receiving both the Best Visitors Guide – Print and the “People’s Choice for Best of Show.”
The 2010 California Tourism Marketing Excellence Awards were given to California destinations and attractions for excellence in successful, high-quality tourism advertising, marketing and public relations programs.
President and CEO Caroline Beteta of CTTC presented the awards at the 28th Annual California Conference on Tourism held June 8 in San Francisco. The judging panel of marketing professionals and industry experts selected a winner in ten respective categories – choosing YMCTB as the winner in the category of Best Visitors Guide. Conference attendees also voted YMCTB as the “People’s Choice for Best of Show” based on the pool of finalists from all categories.
“Being recognized by the CTTC for the Best Visitors Guide and everyone who voted for the People’s Choice Awards is a distinct honor.” Hentz said. “Our county set out to create a truly unique vacation planner that portrays the history, beauty and offerings our world-class destination provides, all while giving the reader an experience to ultimately plan their trip to Yosemite and Mariposa County. These awards are two we will forever cherish and be grateful for.”
